Volunteer Stories: Giving “Binkies”

Eastern Shore Rabbit Rescue Center Volunteering

The Rabbit Rescue Center, based in Rock Hall, Maryland provides care for over twenty some rabbits. The shelter space is small but volunteers who work there make the most of it, feeding the bunnies a healthy diet, cleaning cages, grooming regularly and providing rotational play time in a large pen. “We all love to see our rabbits ‘binky’.”, says Deborah Guthrie, a dedicated volunteer who has been with the organization since its founding in 2015.

“I enjoy volunteering for our Auxiliary. It is so important to keep health care services local. While volunteering I meet so many interesting people and enjoy hearing their stories. I believe everyone needs to know we as volunteers care and are here for them.” Sue Edson, Chester River Hospital Center Auxiliary President
